Welcome to Colonial Hills Elementary School! I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of this wonderful community. With 24 years of experience in education, I am passionate about fostering a love of learning and supporting the growth of both students and teachers.

For the past three years, I served as the principal of Vineyard Ranch Elementary School in NEISD. My time there was incredibly rewarding, and I am eager to bring the knowledge and experiences I have gained to Colonial Hills Elementary.

My goal is to work alongside our dedicated faculty and staff, PTA, parents, and the wider community to create an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. I firmly believe that a collaborative approach is key to achieving our shared vision for student success. Together, we can continue to build on the strong foundation that has been established at Colonial Hills.

I am committed to building relationships by listening, learning, and leading with empathy and respect. By working together, we can create a positive and inclusive school culture where every member of our community feels heard and valued.

I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and am confident that, together, we will achieve great things for our students. Mrs. Diana Leal

I have been in education for ten years and I absolutely love my profession. I attended Our Lady of the Lake University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I worked for 14 years in the business profession until I decided to stay at home and devote all my time to my wonderful daughter Marissa. I did this for three years but decided that my passion in life was in education. I received my Alternative Teaching certification and taught 3rd and 4th grade for 10 years. I returned to Our Lady of the Lake University to receive my Masters in Administration with my Principal certification.

My educational philosophy is driven by the belief that every child is capable of greatness and as educators we must do everything we can at school and in the classroom to help students achieve their highest potential.

I am married and have one daughter who is currently studying to be a teacher herself. I love being outdoors and spend many weekends fishing at Rockport, Texas or relaxing on the beach in Port Aransas.

I hope to meet all of the students and parents of Colonial Hills and look forward to a great school year!
